Day 3, Vancouver Island, Nanaimo

After a restless night in the fully occupied dorm room in Victoria, in the morning we boarded a train for the small town Nanaimo. The ride took 2.5 hours as we traveled through forest, farms and small towns. The train was old and not the most comfortable, but still better than a bus and the views of the country side were spectacular.
Nanaimo was a small close community town, we liked it a lot, it was more laid back than the hustle and bustle of the touristy Victoria.
We arrived in the town late morning and dropped our gear off at the Hostel. We checked out the market, ate some bland "Belgium" chocolate and had a look around the town. We discovered the cheap blueberries the supermarket sold were bitter and for dinner we ate fish and chips. We finished the day by walking around the water front before turning in for the night.
