Day 8, Back to Whistler

Myself and Chris woke up at 4am to catch a bus at 5:15am to travel to Whistler, we were going riding!
Its not cheap to ride in Whistler Garbanzo park if you are hiring a bike. We spent over $200 ca inc transport there and back.
We hired a couple of Rockymountain Slayer Ss bikes, with 6" of travel and built like a tank. We rode more than 1/2 the tracks on the park not stopping for the rain that came (though most other riders did). We rode all difficulties of tracks, though there were sections on the hardest difficulty tracks that were very difficult in the wet conditions.
At about 2:30pm i came off the track and into a wasp nest where i got immediately attacked, i ditched the bike and ran for it up the hill with wasps after me - these suckers were aggressive! I got stung 3 times and the pain was hardcore. After I escaped the wasps I climbed down to where Chris was. I stood there further down the track talking with Chris staring at my bike further up. It was sitting on the wasp nest with the angry wasps buzzing around it. We formulated a plan; I was going to run up with this rope Chris found, tie it on the bike, pull the bike down and run like anything. While i was psyching myself up for the task, a rider turned up and managed to push the bike down to us without getting stung! Sweet!
We got a few more runs in and ended the riding at around 5pm got dinner then onto the 6:30 bus back to Vancouver. We were stuffed! But had big smiles on our faces.
